December 7, 2003 New Vinyl & CD releases - Releases Fix Party Records released it's 7th 12" record - Special Edition vol.1 which features "Fuck The Past" as A1 track. This record also has three more nice tracks produced by other artists. A week before, the second edition of Fix Party's "Welcome To Hell" compilation was released. This CD features the remix of "Low Motherfucker" which was produced by Dutch artist Re-Style. Check out the preview here. It's the only shop in Ontario that has almost all records released by DJ Or-Beat for Overload (MOH) and Fix Party (under the name "MIR"). Fix Party launches new website - www.fixparty.com Orbital Station was involved with Fix Party records from the start. Besides releasing records under the alias "MIR", Orbital Station is also assisting Fix Party with creating artwork for the record covers, flyers and responsible for the design of the new website. June 6, 2003 DJ Or-Beat & MC Da Predator - live in Moscow 1999 - MP3 / PICS Orbital Station presents another classic live recording from Moscow, Russia. This time you will experience the atmosphere of the most successful series of events ever organized in Russia. This party called "Hardcore VS. Jungle". The concept of this event is the "battle" between 2 styles of music on 1 dance floor. For years, "Hardcore VS. Jungle" featured the best local Hardcore and D'n'B artists, as well as some international headliners such as Digital Boy, MC Rage, Chosen Few and Aphrodite. The final, 5th battle took place in MDM Hall on May 7, 1999. 4,000 gabbers and junglists attended this party to support their favourite styles (not to mention that hardcore fans always were the winning side because of the advantage in numbers). The live recording you about to hear is my DJ set (DJ Or-Beat) with the help from Da Predator (Ruffneck rec.) who took the role of the MC. Predator played in Moscow on 3 separate occasions due to the popularity of Ruffneck sound and the incredible energy he brings on stage. This time, at "Hardcore VS. Jungle 5", he performed both as hardcore Live-act and as Drum'n'Bass DJ, plus emceed during my set, which you can now hear for yourself. Fuelled by the atmosphere of the party and a few shots of vodka, Da Predator showed his excellent skills as MC, while almost got ripped to pieces during the stagediving into the overly enthusiastic crowd (see the pictures). As for my performance, I played some older tracks that I still enjoy listening till this day. I hope you'll like this 22 minutes mix. Here's the tracklist: 1. Keep It Alive, DJ Or-Beat May 18, 2003 DJ RUFFNECK - live in Moscow 1997 - MP3 / VIDEO Orbital Station presents a Classic live recording of the performance of DJ Ruffneck at the party in Moscow back in February of 1997. This party had a huge impact on the growing Russian hardcore scene at that time. Ruffneck sound was insanely popular among Russian gabbers and everyone was hyped about DJ Ruffneck coming to Moscow. The party was a big success and still remembered by many after all these years. After returning to Holland, Patrick (DJ Ruffneck) went to his studio and produced the track "I'm A Ruffneck!!!" (RUF 047) in which he used the voice of the Russian MC Pashtet and the crowd noise recorded at the party. By doing so he showed respect to the Russian hardcore fans and made the atmosphere of that party last forever in the song. Some of you, who own this record or heard this track, may have tried to imagine what was behind all that craziness, weird Russian voices, and the loud chanting "Ruffneck, Ruffneck...". Now it's your chance to experience what DJ Ruffneck called the best party of his career. For me, it was one of the most memorable events I ever organized. As we know, Patrick no longer plays hardcore but the influence of the artcore sound he created is still strong. I have the biggest respect for this artist, that's why I decided to share my memories and the audio/video artefacts with you. Carefully preserved in the vaults of Orbital Station, newly remastered and encoded in MP3, the classic 1.5 hour mix by the man who "Ruled the Artcore Scene" is now available for all hardcore fans around the world.
